About Tsukuba Science Tour Office

"Tsukuba Science Tour" and "Next Generation Energy Park" introduction

Tsukuba Science Tour Office was organized under Esaki Leona, Japan’s Nobel Prize Winner in Physics to introduce science to the younger generation. We introduce institutes located in Tsukuba City and also companies and research institutes stretched in Ibaraki Pref.


1. Tsukuba Science Tour

  • There are about 300 research institutes here in Science City Tsukuba. Tsukuba is one of world’s largest science city. Those institutes are open to the public. We Tsukuba Science Tour Office introduces about 50 of them to you and support you to visit those places by picking up suitable institutes, make sample course and arrange schedule. If the sample course meets your needs, we arrange provisional booking with those institutes.

2. Tsukuba Science Tour Bus

  • Tsukuba Science Tour Office supports Tsukuba Science Tour Bus,
    a 1-Day hop-on/hop-off loop bus. It will take you to various research institutes and organizations in the science city Tsukuba.

    • It is suitable for small group, family and private visiting.
      Adults ¥500 Kids ¥250
    • Weekends & Holidays only.
    • Guided Bus Tour available. First and Third Saturday of every month, reservation required.

3. Next Generation Energy Park

  • Ibaraki Prefecture Next Generation Energy Park is a collective of companies and research institutes stretched in 3 areas of Ibaraki, which enables you to see, hear, and experience renewable energy such as solar light and heat, hydro/wind power, biomass etc. We will introduce each institution, provide sample course, and make provisional bookings for you.
